Marcin Krzywina, Director at Oxfordshire Precision Engineering firm Factory 33 Ltd recently spoke to MTD CNC’s Tom Skubula about the difference installing Filtermist oil mist collectors had made to the air quality on the company’s shop floor. 
“The Filtermists help because you don’t have any oily residue coming out from the machines, especially when you’re running the machines for a long time at high revs - when the coolant atomises, turns into fog and seeps out,” explains Marcin.
“When we ran our mills overnight, before we had the Filtermists, if you would come in in the morning and the machine has just finished, you would literally see the fog in the air. You had to open the roller shutters to ventilate the place for a good few minutes before the air was back to normal.”
Marcin also spoke to Tom about visibility inside the machine enclosure: “If you’re operating at high revs, the air inside is much cleaner, so the visibility is a lot better.”
The Factory 33 team has also commented on the difference the Filtermist units have made, “They all say that the clothes don’t stink when they get back home,” said Marcin. “They don’t have that coolant smell anymore.”
