October = the start of OEM Open House season!

October is traditionally the month when machine tool manufacturers and distributors open their doors to showcase their latest machining technologies and innovations.

This year is no different and as a trusted technical partner for oil mist extraction to many of the UK’s leading OEMs, Filtermist is proud to be taking part in a number of Open Houses this autumn.

The season began with Citizen’s Open House which took place from 6th-8th October at Citizen’s Turning Centre of Excellence in Brierley Hill. Various members of our team including UK OEM and Key Account Manager, Steven Broadhead (pictured below), attended to talk to visitors about Filtermist’s latest innovations in oil mist extraction. Our display included a new AW5 oil mist filter specifically developed to handle large volumes of submicron particles generated in high-pressure, high-speed machining applications.

We also showed our popular centrifugal oil mist filters which have been a mainstay in UK machine shops for more than 55 years, and F Save – Filtermist’s brand new energy saving device which can be retrofitted to all models in the FX and S Series.

We’ll be showcasing another AW at the Star Open House in Derby from 3rd-5th November - an AW5 oil mist filter will be running on an SD26 Type E sliding head lathe. The SD26 offers high-speed processing and uses high-pressure coolant which atomises into very small particles during machining. These particles must be effectively removed from the working environment to protect workers’ health and comply with COSHH regulations.

Our final event of the year will be Hurco’s annual Christmas Open House and Supplier Village taking place on the 1st and 2nd December at Hurco’s facility in High Wycombe.
