IATF 16949:2016 Automotive Quality Management

Effective extraction of oil mist and fume generated by automotive manufacturing processes can help to ensure consistent component quality, which can contribute to the ongoing success of IATF 16949 accredited organisations. Extracting warm air from the machine tool’s enclosure can help to control the ambient temperature within the machine by keeping it stable, which in turn can reduce thermal growth and help minimise any potential component inaccuracies.

Working with Filtermist can help you achieve compliance

The automotive sector currently accounts for 4% of the EU’s Gross Domestic Product, and employs over 12 million people across the whole industry, with 3 million in manufacturing specifically*.

Manufacturing processes found in the automotive industry can produce significant quantities of contaminants which can have a detrimental impact on the health, safety and wellbeing of those working within such environments if not properly controlled. In fact, an ONS Labour Force Survey estimated that an average of 1.3 million workers were suffering from an illness caused, or made worse by, their current or recent job**.

In addition to its market leading oil mist filters, in the UK Filtermist also provides a full turn key service for large centralised extraction systems. Systems can be designed for a wide range of purposes including oil mist extraction and dust and fume control, VOC abatement and industrial ventilation.

From consultation and planning, to system design, equipment supply, installation, commissioning and aftersales – Filtermist has provided customised air movement and pollution control systems for clients including the Jaguar Land Rover Engine Manufacturing Centre and Federal Mogul.
