Dorset-based automation and machinery specialist West Pharmaservices has strengthened its commitment to sustainability by installing a Filtermist F Save energy-saving device alongside its Filtermist oil mist extraction system.
West Pharmaservices designs and manufactures bespoke automation and robotic solutions for the pharmaceutical, medical device, FMCG and cosmetic industries. As part of its continued investment in manufacturing capability and environmental responsibility, the company recently installed a Filtermist FX4002 oil mist extraction system on its XYZ 1000LR CNC machining centre.
The installation has significantly improved air quality within the machine shop by effectively capturing airborne oil mist, creating a cleaner, safer working environment while helping the business meet its health and safety obligations.
Following discussions with Filtermist, West Pharmaservices also chose to install the F Save energy-saving device after recognising the environmental and operational benefits it could deliver.
Andrew, Machine Shop Manager at West Pharmaservices, commented:
"A large proportion of our machining work involves manufacturing one-off and low-volume components, so our CNC machine is regularly being set up between jobs. During these periods, the coolant pump is not operating continuously. Our Filtermist Account Manager explained how F Save automatically ensures the extraction unit only runs when the coolant pump is active, eliminating unnecessary energy consumption."

F Save is the only energy-saving device approved by Filtermist for use with its UK-manufactured centrifugal oil mist extraction systems.
