The Filtermist Team dug out their Christmas jumpers and hats yesterday, raising more than £240 for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Colleagues were asked to donate in return for wearing their festive outfits – Head of HR, Poppy Durnall, elaborates on why the team decided to support the Alzheimer’s Society:
“Traditionally Christmas Jumper Day usually raises money for Save the Children, but we thought this year we’d do it a little differently and fundraise for a charity which has a lot of meaning for many of our colleagues,” said Poppy. “Alzheimer’s is a type of dementia that affects a significant amount of people, and that number is growing year on year as people are living for longer.
“Many of our team have personal experience of Alzheimer’s, either with their parents or grandparents, and it can be a very cruel disease. The Alzheimer’s Society undertakes vital research, provides support services for people with the condition and their carers, and lobbies the government - advocating on behalf of people affected by dementia.
“All of this costs money and we are really proud of our team for getting behind this cause and digging deep – especially at this time of year.”
