Driving energy costs down at the Star GB Open House

With energy costs being at the top of the agenda in homes and businesses across the world, Filtermist is looking at a number of ways in which it can reduce energy consumption for end-users. A current exploratory project in collaboration with leading sliding-head lathes provider Star GB will be on show at the Star GB Open House in Derby from 22nd-24th November.

Filtermist has recently installed a variable speed drive from Invertek Drives – a fellow UK manufacturer and world-leader in VFD technology, on an A.mist 20HPS oil mist filter from sister company Absolent AB.

Paul Battersby, Senior Area Sales Manager at Filtermist, explains, “The Optidrive E3 is a general-purpose variable frequency drive designed for use in a wide range of applications. This project is very much in its infancy, but we are confident that we can achieve significant energy savings by using Invertek’s cost-effective technology.

“Invertek Drives has been developing its VFD range since 1998 and now exports its products worldwide. It is a fabulous example of an innovative UK company making a difference on a global scale and we’re excited to be able to find out what this means for Star’s customers.

“The Star Open House is a great opportunity to discuss the current challenges facing UK businesses and how Filtermist can work with customers to relieve some of their main pressures. Historically this has always included compliance with COSHH regulations, but in the current climate energy costs, employee attraction and CO2 emissions are just as important.”

Filtermist has partnered with Star GB for more than 25 years to ensure its customers benefit from the best oil mist extraction for their specific requirements. As well as its own UK manufactured oil mist filters, Filtermist also offers Absolent premium filters which are particularly effective for high-pressure, neat oil applications.

Filtermist will be exhibiting alongside a number of other Technical Partners including FANUC, SolidCam, the Ceratizit Group, Renishaw, Floyd Automatic and many more.
