Filtermist unveils dedicated Technical Training Academy

Telford based Filtermist, best known for its UK manufactured oil mist filters, has unveiled a dedicated Technical Training Academy located in the company’s distribution centre on the T54 Business Park.

As well as its own industrial oil mist filters, Filtermist also manufactures the Dustcheck brand of dust control products and Kerstar industrial vacuum cleaners.

Ensuring staff and global sales teams have the knowledge needed to best advise customers has always been a vital objective for Filtermist - pre-covid, the firm would regularly welcome distributors from around the world to its Telford HQ for product and technical training.

Filtermist also provides comprehensive project and aftermarket services including servicing and spares, and LEV testing and air monitoring. COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) Regulations 2002 require manufacturers to ensure suppliers are ‘competent’ – regular training plays a vital role in ensuring all employees have the knowledge and skills required to enable them to competently deliver the best service possible to customers, in accordance with all regulatory requirements.

Jo Morris, Director of Shared Services, elaborates, “We have a rigorous approach to training which will be greatly enhanced by this new resource. Having dedicated space means we can permanently house products and equipment used in training sessions without having to constantly move it.

“We will begin delivering the training sessions next month – initially these will be mandatory, role dependent courses for colleagues, and as we progress, we will open some sessions up to the wider business as well. We’ll mainly be facilitating the courses in-house but will also invite suppliers, guest-speakers and partners to host sessions that we feel would benefit our team.

“Modules will include Health and Safety, contracts management, electrical awareness, legislation and regulatory requirements, brand training and much more.”
