Star Micronics GB makes use of Filtermist’s facilities and learns about F Monitor

Filtermist was delighted to welcome the sales team from Star Micronics GB to its Telford HQ last month.

Managing Director Steve Totty was joined by five members of Star’s sales team for an afternoon of Filtermist product training and a tour of the new factory. Star then held its regular sales meeting in Filtermist’s dedicated training room the following day.

Filtermist has worked with Star GB for more than 20 years to ensure their customers benefit from effective oil mist removal and comply with CoSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.

Account Manager Matthew Pearson elaborates, “In the UK, local exhaust ventilation (LEV) systems that remove hazardous substances at source, such as Filtermist oil mist filters, are all subject to CoSHH regulations.

“We work closely with our customers to ensure they are aware of current legislation and the legal obligations of all parties involved in sourcing, supplying, installing, commissioning and using LEV systems.”

Filtermist has recently started selling F Monitor dual monitoring systems with all Filtermist units sold in the UK. F monitor uses coloured warning lights to advise machine operators when an LEV system needs servicing, or if any of the filters are blocked.

A section on why Filtermist recommends using F Monitors was included in the product training session attended by Star; “CoSHH states that both employers and employees are responsible for ensuring control measures are working as intended – F monitor makes it easy for employees to spot any problems immediately,” continues Matthew. “Every Filtermist unit installed for Star customers is accompanied by an F Monitor so it’s important the Star sales team know the reason behind this and the benefits it offers to their customers.”

Filtermist moved to its new purpose built premises in July 2015 and has since hosted a number of events including networking breakfasts for Made in the Midlands and the Shropshire Manufacturing Partnership, as well as training events for distributors and UK customers.

Filtermist’s Director of Sales, Stuart Plimmer, says, “We were very pleased to be able to welcome the Star team to Telford. We are proud of the close working relationships we have with our key customers, and we are delighted that we now have a space that we are proud of which can be used to host a variety of events.”
