Manufacturing processes can create a wide variety of contaminants including oil mist, dust, fume, smoke, VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and odours which must all be controlled under Health and Safety regulations including Control of Substances Hazardous to Health 2002 (CoSHH), as well as Environmental laws such as the Environmental Permitting Regulations 2013.

Multi-Fan Systems has an extensive proven track record of providing sustainable air handling systems that comply with the latest legislation. It is also an expert in delivering industrial ventilation systems to ensure people benefit from working in the best environments possible.

The company’s expertise includes delivering fully automated centralised air cleaning systems for clients across a wide range of industries including automotive, aerospace, medical device manufacturing, food processing and many more.

The experienced team at Multi-Fan Systems begins each project by listening to the client’s requirements and assessing all aspects of the project. It considers the environmental impacts, the health and safety requirements, and the overall system performance requirements, through to the maintenance schedules once the site has been signed-off.

Multi-Fan Systems issues full technical specifications and tender details, as well as RFQs to sub-contractors on behalf of its clients.

Project Planning

A designated engineer is appointed to each project and is responsible for ensuring the system is planned, manufactured and delivered in accordance to both the design brief and all relevant regulatory requirements.

The experienced team at Multi-Fan Systems are P602 accredited, have undertaken IOSH training including Managing Safely and are certified by NEBOSH.

The project manager can be situated on site for the entirety of the build or as required by the client.

System Design

Multi-Fan Systems employs skilled P602 accredited systems designers who use the latest technologies to produce detailed 2D and 3D plans and visualisations. AutoCad is complemented by FARO 3D scanners to produce detailed plans to scale, with images and animated ‘fly-throughs’ showing how the proposed system will integrate with the planned or existing building utilities. This BIM (Building Information Management) capability enables the client to easily visualise what the proposed system will look like in situ, and plan how the changes will affect their business. It also acts as a ‘user handbook’ for the client once the installation has been completed as the drawings contain exact details of all parts used and their location in the system. Multi-Fan Systems currently works to BIM Level 2, but can deliver up to BIM Level 3 if required.

As part of the Absolent Group, Multi-Fan Systems is not bound by one manufacturer. It listens to the client’s needs and then specifies accordingly. It is the company’s goal to provide the best solution to ensure the client’s needs are met. The team’s design engineers are all P602 qualified and design extraction systems within the guidelines of the HSE’s HSG258 ‘Controlling airborne contaminants at work – a guide to local exhaust ventilation’.

Manufacture & Supply

Absolent Group companies have manufactured air extraction and filtration systems in the UK and Sweden since 1969. The group operates two UK based in-house fabrication departments which manufacture a wide range of ducting, canopies and accessories, as well as Filtermist and Dustcheck branded filtration equipment using traditional metalworking techniques coupled with the latest technologies. Multi-Fan Systems is also the UK distributor for Italian VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) abatement specialist Brofind Spa and is able to source products from a number of other manufacturers to ensure the best possible results for all clients - regardless of the size and nature of the project.

Multi-Fan Systems operates dedicated installation teams which work to the highest standards at all times. The company is accredited by SafeContractor for its high levels of health and safety practice. Working as a turn-key supplier, overseeing all aspects of system installation, or under Construction, Design and Management (CDM) regulations, the company monitors and audits its teams to ensure that they work safely, efficiently and within the guidelines of its clients’ needs at all times. The teams are managed by NEBOSH qualified Contracts Managers, and all employees are seasoned professionals who are both qualified and experienced in carrying out installation of ducting, pipework, electrics and filter system installations.

P604 accredited engineers commission all of the equipment that has been installed in accordance with HSG258 guidelines before the project is signed off. A series of regular tests are undertaken to ensure that the system is performing as designed and once the team is completely satisfied that everything is in order, the project is completed.
