Long-standing Filtermist employee Dominic Gomez has been recognised with a certificate of appreciation from The Gambia High Commission of London for supporting the Gambian community in Birmingham. 

Dominic, who joined Filtermist’s dispatch department in 2006 before being promoted to a trainee spinner in 2018, spends much of his free time supporting the Birmingham & Black Country Gambia Christian Association with fund-raising. He has organised a number of charitable events including luncheon sales, raffles, dinners and dances.

All monies raised go towards providing schools and helping people with hospital and medical costs in the Gambia.

Brian Lowe, Dominic’s line manager, comments, “This award will come as no surprise to anyone that knows Dom. He is the first to offer support to colleagues and always with a smile. He was awarded with Filtermist’s 2021 Employee Award for Positive Approach and Teamwork in December last year in recognition of his attitude.

“We are all very proud to have Dom on our team.”
