Industrial air filtration specialist Filtermist has sponsored new kits for Wrekin Tigers U9s football team. The grass roots team is part of the Wrekin Juniors Football Club, which has a large number of teams from under 7s right up to under 18s.

Filtermist’s Technical Controller Tracey Higgins approached Filtermist for support as the business regularly sponsors a range of individuals, charities and organisations which are connected to its employees.

Tracey’s youngest son Ollie is in the team that her husband, along with another parent, started in the 2018/2019 season when the boys were all 6-7 years old. The team had attended the mini soccer club that Wrekin Juniors held, but once they reached the Under 7s team age they could no longer attend.

Tracey told us: “There were a huge number of kids that hit that age in 2018 so there were too many for just for one team. My Husband Mark and one of the other Dads Stuart set up this team, as well as another, so that all the children could have the chance to play on a team.

“Mark has completed his coaching training along with my eldest son who helps out with the team when needed.”

Lydia Barber, Director of Group Marketing for Filtermist commented: “It is lovely to be able to help out and support our local community especially when it has a link to a Filtermist employee. We were really pleased to hear that the first time the Tigers wore their new kits they won their match!”

The season has finished now until the end of summer, but the Tigers are due to play in some tournaments in May, June and July and Filtermist wishes them the best of luck!
