Filtermist employees ‘Sleepout’ to fundraise for BBC Children In Need

Filtermist employees hosted a sleepout on Friday 15th November in aid of raising money for the BBC’s Children in Need.  Collecting an impressive £630 for the charity which provide grants to projects in the UK which focus on children and young people who are disadvantaged.

Four members of the Filtermist team from Telford, Amanda Whelan, Andy Smith, Jo Norton and Sarah Taft bedded down in the Filtermist warehouse overnight to highlight that being homeless is not just a reality for some adults but also for some children too.

The team collected shocking statistics for the areas where Filtermist manufactures its products which indicated that there are currently 57 children sleeping rough due to family breakdowns and abuse in Telford, with a further approximately 44 children in the Dewsbury area and a staggering 304 in Northampton.  Giving the Filtermist team a real reason to sleepout and raise money to help.

The office staff also took part in a dress down day to coincide with Children in Need and to raise additional funds for this worthy cause.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts and kindly donated to this very deserving cause.
