Mills CNC , the exclusive UK distributor for Doosan, has worked with Filtermist for more than 15 years. Tony Dale, Technical Director at Mills CNC, was recently filmed by MTD CNC discussing why including and maintaining a Filtermist oil mist filter is a vital part of Mills’ service offering:

“With Filtermist, it’s the brand that everybody knows….generally most of our customers don’t ask for mist extraction – they ask for a Filtermist,” said Tony.

“It used to be aerospace and automotive manufacturers that were looking at the mist extraction for health and safety reasons, but now even subcontractors are keeping their workshops cleaner. It helps reduce the oil residue so yes, it’s very important and a lot of customers expect that now.”

Tony also advised on some of the other benefits that Mills’ customers can achieve as a result of using Filtermist oil mist filters: “By exhausting that warm clean air out of the machine tool, you’re helping to control the ambient temperature from within the machine, keeping it more stable which again reduces any thermal growth and component accuracy issues.”

As well as offering Filtermist oil mist filters on all of its machine tools, Mills also includes Filtermist servicing as part of its Maintenance Contracts, as Tony explains, “From the customer’s point of view, it’s one less headache knowing that the mist extraction unit is doing its job.”

He goes on to talk about the level of service Mills receives from Filtermist and concludes with the following; “It’s a very strong relationship…engineers’ availability, spares – we have no complaints. It’s a very good partnership.”
