Filtermist shares export expertise to help British manufacturers unlock business potential in ASEAN Markets

Filtermist’s Managing Director, James Stansfield, will be presenting at UKTI’s Export Week event, ‘Sizzling Southeast Asia: Unlock your Business potential in ASEAN’, taking place at the Hyatt Hotel in Birmingham on Thursday.

UKTI Export Week aims to provide British companies with the opportunity to participate in seminars, trade workshops, targeted market days and marketing workshops at different locations across the UK. This follows the success of Export Weeks in May and November 2013, where over 8000 companies attended events.

UKTI has joined forces with the UKABC to create the ‘Sizzling Southeast Asia’ event, to provide comprehensive guidance for UK SME’s looking to expand their business into ASEAN markets.

Filtermist has successfully traded in Asia for over 25 years - James was invited to present at the event to provide insight into the company’s export success in this region.

James confirms, “I am proud to have been invited to speak to delegates about Filtermist’s experience of trading in the ASEAN region. More than 90% of our products are destined for overseas markets and we recently restructured our business within the ASEAN region with the establishment of Filtermist Asia Pte Ltd in Singapore, and the appointment of dedicated distributors in Indonesia and Vietnam. These developments have provided me with some additional, timely information to relay to event attendees.”

The UKTI has recently highlighted the ASEAN region as a high growth market, offering significant potential for British manufacturers.

James continues, “Unlike the Western World, ASEAN markets have not experienced economic downturn in recent years and industries including aerospace are thriving, allowing UK businesses to explore the potential for growth that can be created by exporting to this region.”
