Trade shows strengthen Filtermist’s presence in East Asia

Filtermist will be represented at two major East Asian exhibitions in April – MTA 2013, taking place in Singapore from 9th-12th and CIMT in Beijing, China, from 22nd-27th.

Filtermist Asia Pacific Pty will be attending precision engineering industry event, MTA, at the Singapore Expo where it will be showcasing the newest additions to Filtermist’s range of oil mist extraction units – the S Series, as well as products from Filtermist’s parent company, Absolent.

Managing Director at Filtermist Asia Pacific, Jim How, says, “MTA 2013 provides an excellent opportunity to showcase our latest product developments to visitors from the precision engineering sector. Filtermist has an established presence in Singapore, but it’s always useful to attend exhibitions like MTA to meet existing and potential customers face to face.”

MTA is one of the largest exhibitions of its kind in Singapore – more than 500 exhibitors attended the previous show in 2011 which was visited by over 13,000 people from around the world.

Filtermist International’s Managing Director, James Stansfield, says, “Filtermist first entered Singapore in 2005 through joint venture, Filtermist Asia Pacific. The venture has gone from strength to strength and we now have very strong ties with some of Singapore’s most prominent machine tool manufacturers including Mazak and Makino. Events such as MTA provide an opportunity to further raise awareness of our products and services in Singapore’s thriving manufacturing sector.”

Later in April, Filtermist’s Chinese distributor, En Creative, will be exhibiting on behalf of Filtermist at the 16th China International Machine Tool Show (CIMT). As with Singapore, China is a huge growth market for Filtermist and is the company’s largest market in Asia.

Filtermist units are in use around the world in virtually all types of machining operations and industrial sectors, including: general machining; spark eroding; grinding; turning; food spraying and industrial washing processes.

The extensive range provides solutions to many different machine types and applications. This ranges from small lathes to large mills and from first generation grinders to 'State of the Art' machining centres. China’s booming economy offers huge potential to expand Filtermist’s business.

James Stansfield says, “We developed a relationship with our Chinese distributor, En Creative, through contacts at the UK trade organisation, the MTA (Manufacturing Technologies Association) around the year 2000, and the business has grown very quickly over the years. We expect this trend to continue as Chinese machine tool manufacturers are prepared to invest in quality, robust equipment. Both Filtermist and UK manufacturing in general have a global reputation for delivering well-made products that last.”
