Filtermist Asia-Pacific has recruited Terence Hong as Business Development Manager for the ASEAN region.

Based in their Singapore head office, Terence is  tasked with increasing business in all of the ASEAN nations and recently joined Jim How (FMAP), Jim and Mike Stansfield on a trip to investigate opportunities for growth in Thailand.

The ASEAN region, including countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Phillipines, is seen as an area with outstanding potential for Filtermist products.

Jim How, Managing Director of Filtermist Asia-Pacific, commented "Since we set up the FMAP joint venture we have seen a steady increase in business in the area and we felt the time was right to recruit someone to help take us to the next level".

Last years floods in Thailand had a devastating impact on the economy of the country but slowly companies are getting back to full capacity. In the interim many companies in surrounding countries had to quickly increase their capacity to help improve supply for computer hard disk manufacturers, whch were very badly affected. One Malaysian company recently placed an order for dozens of new Filtermist units, requiring very quick lead times. The Singapore Filtermist operation was designed for this type of demand, and was able to supply the units from their stock.
