Filtermist’s aftermarket team is currently working with long-standing, local customer Epwin Group to identify alternative filter rolls for one of its flatbed filters.Epwin manufactures a range of building products including windows, doors and fascias, and uses a number of flatbed filters to filter water used in a variety of production processes, but the filter media Epwin was previously using has been discontinued by the supplier.

Filtermist sourced an alternative product from another supplier, but it wasn’t quite the same as the previous product so when a representative from the Italian supplier visited the UK, the aftermarket team took the opportunity to draw on his technical expertise.

The project team visited Epwin so the manufacturer could see the production processes first-hand. Aftermarket Sales Coordinator Michelle Parkin comments, “The visit was hugely helpful as it gave our supplier the opportunity to see the issue for himself. He has recommended alternative non-woven filter rolls so we have ordered samples and Epwin will trial them from next week.

“We have worked with Epwin for over 15 years, and we are very keen to be able to help them with their requirements. Our supplier is confident the new media will prove effective, but if not, we’ll review again until we find the right solution.”
