Furniture from Filtermist finds new home with Shropshire Cadets

Telford based oil mist filters manufacturer Filtermist has donated a variety of furniture that it no longer needed to the Shropshire Army Cadets (ACF).

Filtermist moved production of its Kerstar brand from Northampton to Telford at the end of 2021. The move meant that some of the furniture in Northampton was surplus to requirements, so Marc Saunders, Manufacturing Support Engineer at Filtermist, asked if it could be donated to the Shropshire Army Cadets rather than go to landfill.

Marc takes up the story, “My family has had a close connection with the Cadets for more than 15 years now, so when I found out that this furniture was not needed I thought they might be able to make use of it.

“We’ve donated five tables and accompanying draws, two canteen tables and chairs which will be given to the weekend training camp at Ness Cliff, two cupboards, and some old hard board which will be used in the air rifle range.”

The Shropshire Cadets has 22 detachments in total, 100 adult volunteers and over 500 cadets. Matt from the ACF comments, “We were delighted when Marc contacted us about this furniture. As an organisation that operates out of 22 different locations around Shropshire, we are always grateful for any equipment or items that will benefit our Cadets.”
