We Are Filtermist....Ben Kimpton

Ben Kimpton, Product Manager - Kerstar Industrial Vacuum Cleaners

“The company’s desire to evolve and keep moving forward attracted me to Filtermist. From day one of joining Filtermist has given me full support on improving my skill set, and its constant investment in people and recognising and nurturing talent is what I feel makes Filtermist stand out from any company I have ever worked for in the past.”

Ben joined Filtermist two years ago as a Design Engineer and worked on projects including developing a dedicated entry level product range for specific overseas markets and supporting Bristol T & G, Filtermist’s German subsidiary.

“My experience in the engineering team gave me greater exposure to group activity and the potential for growth from the vast array of product ranges within the Filtermist group. When the Kerstar role came up I saw it as a great opportunity to broaden my knowledge of other products in the Filtermist range,“ said Ben.

Ben’s current role as Product Manager for Kerstar was created when the brand was acquired last year. He is now responsible for overseeing every aspect of the business including technical, manufacturing, supply chain, sales and export, product development and rationalisation, and of course, managing the great team at the Northampton site.

“I’ve been working with Ben and mentoring him for the last six months. His previous experience has been invaluable as he has knowledge of our products from design through to manufacture. Ben has absolutely embraced the challenge and sharing my commercial knowledge and coupling it with Ben’s experience has been very rewarding,” said Director of Group Business Support, Ian Woodward.

Ben was initially attracted to Filtermist thanks to its reputation within the industry and its global footprint and exporting success. However, Ben says that one of the best things about working at Filtermist is the people: “My colleagues are all committed, professional and experienced. Everyone at Filtermist works well as a team and supporting each other and sharing knowledge is the norm.”

In the two years Ben has been with Filtermist he’s undergone extensive training to ensure he has the skills needed for the future: “The training I’ve received whilst at Filtermist has enabled me to do my job well. I’ve completed the Rising Stars Program, I’m now P602 qualified, attended a CE marking training course and am receiving ongoing mentoring from Ian,” he said.
